CORPORATE OVERVIEW
Eastland Medical Systems Ltd (Eastland®) is a publicly listed, international medical products company that develops, manufactures and distributes medical treatments and safe medical devices.
Since listing, Eastland® has been expanding rapidly. The Company’s Australian operations are conducted through its three wholly owned subsidiaries, Portland Surgical Products Pty Ltd (Victoria), Medical Industries Australia Pty Ltd. (New South Wales) and recently acquired WestCoast Surgical & Medical Products (Western Australia). Eastland®) also holds a 50% stake in West Australian sterile barrier company Ampack Medical Pty Ltd. These acquisitions have seen Eastland®’s position strengthen even further in the Australian medical distribution market and create organisational synergies and costs savings for the Group.
Eastland®) has established a presence in the South African medical products distribution market through its 65% held subsidiary Eastland Medical Systems South Africa (Pty) Ltd (EMSSA) and its 45% held associate Health InForm (HIF). In 2007 Eastland® secured the rights to exclusively distribute a new patented children’s Anti-Malaria Treatment, ArTiMist™ within Sub Saharan Africa. The agreement between EMSSA and Star Medical Botswana will entitle EMSSA to manufacture and distribute ArTiMist™ to all 47 Sub Saharan Countries and gives Eastland® a 30% holding in the Botswana Company. Safe Medical Device ClipOn™ will also be manufactured in the same facilities, for distribution to Sub Saharan African Countries. ClipOn™ recently obtained CE Marking which will fastrack regulatory approvals for market entry.

Contracts have also been completed with German pharmaceutical company hc Berlin Pharma AG giving Eastland® a 40% holding in the German Company and providing a European platform for Eastland® products. These Contracts provide the rights to manufacture and distribute ArTiMist™ to Asia, India and the Pacific Regions, securing access to 97% of the World’s Malaria infected countries and their combined 485 million reported cases of Malaria.
