The acquisition of MIA provides Eastland with a profitable,
experienced and successful marketing and distribution
organization to facilitate access to markets for Eastland’s
range of safe injectable devices and other products.
Founded in 1982, Medical Industries Australia (MIA)
is a significant independent importer, distributor and
supplier of medical, therapeutic and allied products.
MIA has an established client base in Government and
Private Sector Hospitals, clinics, medical practitioners
and pharmacies across Australia. The Administration,
Warehousing, Sales and Distribution functions are centered
in Sydney, New South Wales.
In excess of 70% of revenue is generated by MIA’s
own brands. Owning these key brands underpins MIA’s
competitive advantage and contributes higher margins.
Innovation, product quality and cost competitiveness
combined with the capacity to supply customers “ex-stock”
has cemented effective long term customer and supplier
relationships.

WESTCOAST SURGICAL & MEDICAL SUPPLIES
On the 31 August 2006, WestCoast Surgical & Medical Supplies became a wholly owned subsidiary of Eastland Medical Systems Ltd. Established in 1995, WestCoast Surgical and Medical Supplies have experienced rapid growth to now become one of the largest medical distributors in Western Australia. ISO Quality Assured to 9001 standard, the company sells a comprehensive range of surgical and medical product lines which compliment the existing range of products available through the Eastland Group of Companies. This now provides the Eastland Group with access to Western Australian markets, and adds to their existing distribution network on the Eastern Seaboard. www.westcoastsurgical.com.au
HEALTH INFORM SOUTH AFRICA
In November 2004, Health In Form was appointed the African Distributor for Eastland Medical Systems Ltd (EMS). Their South African company Eastland Medical Systems SA (Pty) Ltd (EMSSA) is HIF's largest shareholder. This association has allowed HIF to forge close relationships with two of the companies in the EMS Group; Portland Surgical Products (Portland ) and Medical Industries Australia (MIA). In early 2005 Health Inform took delivery of its first shipment of medical products from Medical Industries Australia Pty Ltd. (100% EMS subsidiary).
